Gridlings is a puzzle game. We collect as little as possible, and we never sell or share your information.

Playing offline

Your progress (level, scores, streaks, settings, your player name and avatar, and any puzzle in progress) is saved only on your device. Offline cups against CPU rivals send nothing to us.

Playing online (cups)

If you choose to play online, the game creates an anonymous online profile. No email, phone number, password or account is needed. We store only:

• A random player ID created by the game (not linked to your device, Apple ID or contacts),
• Your player name and avatar, which other players in your cup can see,
• Your cup results: points earned, levels finished and when you last played, and
• Safety records: reports and blocks you make, or reports made about you.

We use this only to run cups and leaderboards and to keep online play safe. We don’t sell your information, and online-play data is not shared with other companies. Our web server, like any website, processes your IP address to deliver responses. To limit abuse, a scrambled (hashed) version is kept for up to 24 hours and is never stored with your profile.

Ads (iPhone app only)

The free iPhone app shows a short ad between some levels, provided by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, Google may collect your device’s advertising identifier (only if you allow it when iPhone asks about tracking), your approximate location from your IP address, and information about the ads you see and tap. You can say no to tracking and still play everything. In some regions you’ll also be asked for consent before personalized ads are shown. Google’s practices are described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. The website version has no ads.

Remove Ads purchase

If you buy “Remove ads”, Apple processes the payment. We never see your payment details. To confirm and restore the purchase we use RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous app user ID and your purchase record from Apple.

Deleting your data

Open Settings → Delete online data in the game to permanently remove your online profile and cup entries from our server. You can also turn online cups off at any time. Deleting the app or clearing its data removes everything stored on your device.

Children

We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. Online play uses only a made-up player name. Please don’t use your real name.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
